This site explains one thing: the Portuguese residence permit for investment, known as the Golden Visa, as it stands in the law and in AIMA's published guidance. It exists because most pages on the subject are sales pages, and many still describe rules that ended in 2023.
How the content is written
- Every requirement is traced to the law or to AIMA's page, and the source is numbered in the text.
- Current rules are separated from historical ones. Where a figure has changed, the date of the change is given.
- Nothing is invented. There are no processing-time estimates, approval rates, client stories or named advisers here, because none of those can be verified from public sources.
- Government fees are given as the range advisers publish, with the instruction to check AIMA's tariff, because the table is revised and quoted inconsistently.
- The review date at the top of each page is the date the sources were last re-read in full.
What this site is not
It is not legal, tax or investment advice, and it does not assess anyone's individual case. A residence application involves criminal-record checks, source-of-funds review and a five-year commitment; those questions need a lawyer or licensed adviser who has seen the documents.
